My Background
I’ve taken photos by entire life. I’ve always loved capturing moments and reflecting on the pictures and my feelings during those special times. I used point and shoot camera and they were satisfactory for the candid photos I was taking back then. When my kids starting playing organized sports, I realized that I was too far away from the action and my photos were missing the mark. I needed a better camera.
10u travel baseball with Marucci was just the motivation I needed. With a brand new DSLR camera, I was amazed at how much better my pictures looked! I started taking pictures of all my kids’ games and shared them on the team group chat pages. I loved it, but I was more surprised by how other parents reacted when they saw their child frozen in time performing an extraordinary act of incredible athleticism (at 10u – a pretty low bar, but high school and college
got better!) or those quiet, unscripted moments when true emotions leaked out.
Seeing the images from my camera was addictive. The more I shot, the more I wanted to shoot – and not just sports. I started shooting landscapes, events and portraits. There are so many subjects to shoot and the learning curve associated with each is high, but the journey to mastery has been amazing!
My true joy is portrait and headshot photography. The one-on-one nature of this experience allows me to connect with my client. The revelation of their personal story and true personality
through my photographs is exciting.
